Michelle Muri-Sloane is a visual artist living and working in Washington, D.C. She developed a passion for creating art; first as a child and in recent years from online courses and extensive classes at the Washington Studio School and other independent artist workshops in the United States and Europe. She has studied the art of drawing and fluctuates her focus between the human form, landscapes, and still-life. She is fascinated by florals, exploring both realist and abstract expressions and capturing texture and color in ways she finds freeing, interpreting on canvass her love of creativity. She is currently creating both bold statements of color and form through her recent study of largescale blind contour drawings as presented here at Preservation and Framing, Washington DC.
Her favorite laboratory for these drawings is the beautiful “Bishop’s Garden” found in the shadow of Washington’s majestic National Cathedral.
Muri-Sloan’s work has been exhibited in prestigious juried shows across the country in Kansas City, New York, Brooklyn. Her work is held in private collections throughout the world, most notably, Charleston, SC, Boston, MA, Washington, DC, and Basel, Switzerland.
